The Septuagint was written before 100BC by Jews living in Alexandria, Egypt to translate the Old Testament from Hebrew into Greek. It was the Bible of the apostles and the early Christian church before the New Testament was formed. It is quoted in the New Testament when Old Testament passages are quoted.
