Beyond Japanized Christianity ( Nihonteki Kirisutokyoh o Koete )

Shinshu Study Group.

Various authors contribute. In the early 20th century many German Christians accepted Nazism and sought to develop a German form of Christianity. The same impulse toward a Japanese form of Christianity was felt in Japan which caused most churches to accept nationalist thinking and even pay respects at Shinto shrines before and during WW2. How have Japan's churches changed? The desire to respect Japanese culture and recognize biblical elements in order to reach Japanese for Christ is good. But the danger is in compromising with unbiblical elements that results in syncretism and not true Christian faith. We need to return to the Bible to find true Christian faith to share with the Japanese people. A5 size, 128 pp.
