The latest in the Samurai Who Read the Bible series focuses on historical characters from the Warring States period when Christianity was introduced to Japan. Akechi Mitsuhide (1528-1582) was a samurai and general who rebelled against Oda Nobunaga and was Shogun for 13 days. He is the subject of the 2020 NHK Taiga Drama TV series. His daughter, Tama (or Garasha) (1563-1600) was married to daimyo Hosokawa Tadaoki (1563-1646) and was named Gracia when she received baptism as a Christian convert.
