Jacob DeShazer testimony tract booklet. The dramatic story of two enemies who were freed from their hatred when both believed in Jesus Christ. "Jake" DeShazer was an American staff sergeant and bombardier with the Doolittle Raiders in WW2. He bombed Nagoya, was captured and imprisoned by the Japanese and treated cruelly. A guard gave DeShazer a Bible and he read Romans 10: 9. Following its instructions, DeShazer believed in Jesus and was filled with joy. His hate was transformed into love for the Japanese. After the war he returned home to his family, went to a Christian college, married Florence and then returned to Japan as a missionary to share Christ's love and forgiveness with Japanese. He preached all over Japan and published his testimony in Japanese. DeShazer's testimony was read by Mitsuo Fuchida, who was the Japanese pilot who hated Americans and led the raid on Pearl Harbor that brought the USA into WW2. Fuchida got a Bible and read Christ's amazing prayer of forgiveness for those who put him on the cross (Luke 23:34). He became a Christian. His testimony books are listed along with DeShazer's. DeShazer and Fuchida met as brothers in Christ and prayed together. Jake and Florence helped start 23 churches in Japan over 30 years. This is a life transformed through encountering the Bible and trusting Jesus Christ. Won't you seek to know Jesus Christ too and be transformed? Information on the book of his story, Return of the Raider, is on the back page for readers who want to know more plus space to stamp church info. Booklet size: 14.8cm X 25cm, 8 pages. Package of 10.

What Modern People Have Forgotten: Jukichi Yagi
(Gendaijin ga Wasureta Mono: Yagi Jukichi)

EHC
Jukichi Yagi (1898-1927) was a poet who worked as a teacher. He died at the young age of 29 and only published one book of poems. Over a 5-year period he wrote 3,000 poems which even now are greatly loved. In them he looks at Nature, thinks about his hometown, about his wife, about children, and, with trembling heart, puts those thoughts into words. Three of his poems are quoted. One expresses a desire to not give up seeking beauty in relationships with people. He had that hope because he knew the Bible and believed in Jesus Christ the Son of God who loves people and saves them from perishing and gives eternal life. Quotes Isaiah 40:31. When he learned he was sick, and knowing he would die young, he continued to write poems. Another poem is about pausing to sit on grass and realize he had made mistakes. At such times resting in Nature we can hear God's voice. The third poem is about hearing a harp (koto) quietly playing in autumn brightness. It encourages us to quietly take one step at a time as our lives move ahead. Information on the Forest Book about Jukichi's life and faith is on the back page for readers who want to know more plus space to stamp church information. Package of 50.

When Attending a Christian Funeral
new
When Attending a Christian Funeral
(Kirisutokyoh no Sohgi ni Sanretsusuru Toki)

EHC
Funeral tract. Many who attend Christian funerals have said that they would like to have a "Christian" funeral when they die. But they wonder how to act, what to do when attending a Christian service. The basic idea of death in the Bible is that death is not the end, but a home-going, entering into Heaven. So, death is not sad for Christians. In the Bible, we don't worship any god other than the true God. So we don't worship the deceased. A Christian funeral is not only an expression of love and respect for the dead, its main purpose is to encourage those left behind. This is why we sing hymns, and pray to encourage those who remain. You don't have to get panicky at a funeral. The Master of Ceremonies will lead everything. If you don't know the songs, just listen. Sometimes they give flowers, but this is not the same ideas as the Buddhist giving flowers to the deceased. This is simply decorative. May grace be with those who attend the funeral.
