Megumi Chalet Karuizawa (MCK) is a Christian conference center situated in the mountain village resort of Karuizawa in Nagano Prefecture. gMegumih is the Japanese word for ggraceh or gblessingh and MCK is a place to experience Godfs grace and blessing. The staff plan a full range of year-round evangelistic, Bible, and Christian growth seminars and conferences along with 2 youth camps. Although available for family vacations, an increasing number of churches, Christian organizations and "mission schools" rent the facilities for camps and retreats for groups up to 250 people. The guests are introduced to Christ in the beautiful mountain setting. Facilities include both western (with showers) and Japanese style lodging, a prayer chapel, various sizes of meeting rooms including 2 chapels, a gym, Japanese baths, a large dining room, covered walkways, barrier-free areas and a room for the handicapped, book and gift shops plus The Woodshed coffee shop. In December, there are concerts, and thousands visit to see the Christmas lighting display, receive a tract and hot drink and sing along with the outdoor Singing Christmas Tree. MCK is accessible by the Joshinetsu super highway, and is just 64 minutes from Tokyo by Shinkansen "Bullet" train.
